The developer has selected an LED-backlit LCD display instead of OLED because of concerns about long-term exposure to heat and sunlight, OLED image retention/burn-in, and service life in an instrument-panel installation. LED-backlit LCD technology can have a nominal backlight life of 40,000 hours or more depending on the panel and operating conditions; this figure is a general technology reference, not a guaranteed lifetime of this specific product. Final panel, environmental test and brightness specifications should be confirmed in the production datasheet.

Real installation example: BMW E30 with Link Fury X ECU

A customer with a right-hand-drive BMW E30 coupe, Mitsubishi 4G63T Evo 6 engine swap and Link Fury X standalone ECU asked about replacing a Haltech IQ3 Street dash. The developer explained that a custom plug-in patch harness is not required for the intended setup: connect the E30 factory cluster connectors, wire the Link ECU CAN Bus to the digital cluster, then select the matching ECU profile/settings in the cluster. This is an example of the intended integration method, not a guarantee of zero additional wiring. CAN wiring is additional work and the customer’s specific ECU configuration, message protocol, powertrain sensors and available data require confirmation.

Warranty and support

Two-year product warranty and lifetime technical support, together with a lifetime warranty on craftsmanship, as communicated by the developer. The final written terms must define coverage, exclusions, claim procedures, remedy, geographic applicability and the meaning of “lifetime” before launch. Statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.

Do I need to send in my original E30 cluster?

No. This product is designed as a complete replacement assembly with its own housing.

Does the cluster work with aftermarket ECUs?

Can I change the ECU or CAN baud rate?

Will it work with a Link Fury X and 4G63T swap?

The developer describes a connection method using the E30 factory cluster plugs plus an additional CAN Bus connection from the Link ECU, followed by selecting the ECU in settings. Validate the exact integration before purchase.

Can I keep my existing mileage?

The cluster is intended to support a one-time entry of the vehicle’s true accumulated mileage with persistent storage thereafter.

Why LCD instead of OLED?

The developer prioritises automotive heat exposure, reduced burn-in risk and expected longevity; the display uses LED-backlit LCD technology.

Is cruise control supported?

The cluster is intended to be compatible with supported cruise-control-equipped E30 configurations; the vehicle’s existing cruise-control system remains necessary.

Are all app, TPMS and custom themes ready?
